Ken and Michelle

Soundwater is a country/folk duo featuring a 12 string guitar and harmonies reminiscent of Simon and Garfunkel, The Beatles, Peter, Paul and Mary and a wee touch of the Everly Brothers. They enjoy singing new and retro lyrical ballads with strong storytelling elements like those of Bob Dylan and John Prine. They have been performing together for just over a year and everywhere they have played has led to more gigs! Consider them old school folksy folks (60 and 75 years of age) as they still get gigs from hand-shakes when people see them play.

Ken has been playing music since his high-school band and played with the successful band, Revival, in Manitoba, in the 80's and 90's. Michelle has been performing for decades too but singing lead is new for her since they formed Soundwater in 2025 and they have taken flight!

We are committed environmentalists and feature a few songs that address social justice. For example, our revision of Simple Song of Freedom (Bobby Darin) addresses Canadian sovereignty in light of our neighbour to the South! We are excited to bring forth eco-folk and country tunes and we would love to bring our soothing Soundwater vibes to your event, festival or concert!

Recent review:  " We were so pleased to have these two visit Galiano Island and play a warm and wonderful set at the Galiano Inn. These two sing touching and meaningful songs with top notch musicality. It was the perfect set for our
crowd and it was deeply enjoyed by all. "
